Driving home with the wife.
(She was not the wiser,
Nor would, for charity,
Considered sun or moon
Or all the stars before
Crashing Venus into Mars!)

A diameter three eighths.
Black hairball from the visor
Descends his silken tweed.
Discretely settling down
To rest upon my thigh.

He seemed happy enough.
I paid mind to the traffic,
And at, for lust or love,
or my best opportune,
I gave to him the shove.

He meant no harm I’m sure!
And certainly he knew
The same was true of me.

We parted amicably.
